How it began

Jordan Valley near Il Siru

Hello, my name is Jeries Nesheiwat, pronounced (Jer-ious) in Arabic and I come from a family of Jordanian immigrants who traveled to America in search of opportunity and a dream. My mother’s parents came to America in 1972 with their eleven children, and my mother, being the oldest was met with the added pressure of having to help support her siblings. Prior to starting her new life here in the US, she had graduated from nursing school and was working as a registered nurse in a lovely town called Irbid in Jordan. It was there where my mother spent the best years of her life.

In 1975 my mother returned to Jordan with her father to visit family, and it was then that my parents first met. Shortly thereafter, in the traditional Middle Eastern fashion, my parents married. They knew very little about each other at first, yet the prospect of uplifting and moving to America brought excitement, fear and hope. Prior to my parents marrying, my paternal grandfather whose name is also Jeries passed away and left behind a terroir of mature fruit trees, including olive trees to his children. Over 40 years passed before we got to sample from the olive oil that was milled from the trees my father and grandfather planted.

One day, in late December of 2019, my cousin who was living in Jordan sent a tin container of the olive oil as a Christmas gift that came from my father’s orchard. I purchased  a stainless steel container called a Fusti and poured the olive oil into it for storage.  With amazement, I could not believe how silky and smooth the oil was that I began to call it "liquid gold".  It had a tint of olive green and the amazing aroma, I knew that this oil was special. Since then, samples have been given to family and friends and the response from everyone is; this was the best olive oil they have ever tasted!

In 2022, my family and I decided to take a leap of faith, followed a dream, and formed the company Tree of Life Imports. Its vision is simple; Through collaboration with vested partners in Jordan, to import the highest quality of extra-virgin, first cold pressed olive oil milled from single source and same harvest.  Today, we are honored and proud to bring to your family's table, IL Siru brand olive oil, a certified organic, extra-virgin first cold press oil imported from the heart of the Levant region.  We are confidant that you will absolutely love our olive oil.
